4 Days Discover Tanzania
Start from Arusha and explore the northern circuit.
Kilimanjaro Views · Colobus Monkeys · Momella Lakes
Arusha National Park lies just 25km east of Arusha city — making it the most accessible national park in Tanzania. Despite its small size (552 km²), it packs an enormous punch: dramatic landscapes ranging from tropical rainforest to moorland, volcanic craters, alkaline lakes, and spectacular views of both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru (Tanzania's second-highest peak at 4,566m).
The park is ideal for a half-day or full-day excursion from Arusha before or after your main safari. It's also the only national park in northern Tanzania where you can do walking safaris — guided walks through the forest to see colobus monkeys, giraffes, and buffalos on foot.

Colobus monkeys and blue monkeys are abundant in the forest. Giraffes are frequently seen moving between the montane forest and open areas. Buffalos, warthogs, zebras, and hippos frequent the Momella Lakes area. Flamingos and other water birds gather on the alkaline Momella Lakes. Leopard sightings are possible but rare.
Arusha National Park is also the starting point for the Mount Meru climb — often used as acclimatization before Kilimanjaro. At 4,566m, Meru is Africa's fifth-highest peak and offers a dramatic 3–4 day trekking experience with excellent views of Kilimanjaro on clear mornings.
