Day 1: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
We’ll depart from your hotel at 8am for an extraordinary visit to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife. The park’s iconic Ancient Baobab trees dominate the scenery, offering a picturesque backdrop for observing a multitude of animals, including lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, and elephants, with Tarangire boasting the country’s highest concentration of elephants. Enjoy a memorable picnic lunch with scenic river views before embarking on an afternoon game drive to further explore the park’s wonders.
Day 2: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Embark on a picturesque journey through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a captivating full-day game drive. Despite its modest size, spanning 205 square miles, the park boasts breathtaking scenery, including lush acacia forests and towering fig and mahogany trees. Encounter a diverse array of wildlife, from giraffes and elephants to baboons and blue monkeys, along with a notable population of buffaloes. The park’s famed tree-climbing lions and flamingos along the lake shore add to its allure, while boat excursions and bike tours offer additional exploration opportunities. As the day draws to a close, transfer to the camp for a delightful dinner amidst this stunning natural setting.
Day 3: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Embark on an early morning journey towards the renowned Serengeti National Park, renowned as the epitome of vast plains and wildlife diversity. Along the way, marvel at the breathtaking scenery, including a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Crater rim for a mesmerizing vista. As you venture deeper into the Serengeti, the name’s meaning – “endless plains” in the local language – becomes apparent, with its sprawling 6,900 square miles seemingly infinite. Witness the Great Migration spectacle, with millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes traversing the plains. Keep an eye out for iconic Big Cats and other predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as a myriad of smaller animals and over 500 bird species. Optional visits to Olduvai Gorge offer insight into humanity’s origins, with opportunities to explore archaeological sites and museums detailing significant discoveries by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey.
Day 4 & 5: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Full days in the Serengeti National Park. We are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. On every day of the safari, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake up time. For example, on this day, you could do a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive, or you could do a full day game drive with picnic lunch.
Day 6: SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO
Embark on an early morning game drive to witness the vibrant wildlife activity amidst the breathtaking sunrise, a truly unforgettable experience. Afterward, return to camp for a satisfying brunch before journeying to Ngorongoro, celebrated as the 8th wonder of the Natural World. Spanning 102 square miles with towering 2,000-foot walls, the crater serves as a sanctuary for indigenous East African wildlife, including the elusive black Rhino. Explore its diverse ecosystem, featuring a river, swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, and lush plains hosting Africa’s largest elephants. Arrive in Ngorongoro in time to savor a memorable sundowner amidst its awe-inspiring scenery.
Day 7: Ngorongoro
We will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo Lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Lake Eyasi, where you will have a unique and fascinating cultural experience on the next day.
Day 8: LAKE EYASI AND THE HADZABE
Today promises to be an extraordinary and culturally immersive experience. Rising before dawn, you’ll venture alongside your guide to encounter the Hadzabe, among Africa’s last nomadic ethnic groups. Engage in their daily rituals, offering a glimpse into their unique way of life. This authentic encounter provides unparalleled photographic opportunities and is sure to be a highlight of your safari. Activities may include joining the men on a hunt or the women in their fruit gathering session, offering insights into the Hadzabe’s traditional practices.
Following your time with the Hadzabe, we’ll journey to the picturesque Lake Eyasi, nestled within the Great Rift Valley. This seasonal salt lake offers stunning vistas before our return to Arusha.
